Naseby Travel Guide

Naseby accommodation, Naseby activities and attractions, Naseby maps, transportation to and around Naseby - the ALL NEW Jasons Naseby Destination Travel Guide is your complete visitor guide for Naseby.

The picturesque town of Naseby, just two hours from Queenstown, retains much of its historical, gold-mining charm to this day. The town lies in a valley in the foothills of the Mt Ida Range, surrounded by forest. The permanent population in Naseby is only 100, but during the holiday season thousands of holiday-home owners coverge on the town to enjoy and relax in this tranquil area.

Gold was discovered here in 1863. In the end, so much gold was found that they actually had to move the town to get at the rest! Many buildings remain from this era and the newer buildings are sheltered by trees so Naseby keeps it's historic feel.
