Nelson Wineries
The Nelson/Marlborough region now has more than 4000ha of Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Riesling, Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris and Merlot grapes. Most of Nelson's wineries are en route to
Richmond and
Motueka, with several open to visitors. The popular Taste Nelson Festival in February celebrates locally produced food and beverages.
