Ngataki is a settlement in
the Far North, north of
Houhora and south of Te Kao on the state highway running between
Kaitaia and
Cape Reinga. Ngataki does not have any shops - the nearest are south in Houhora. At Ngataki, art work and other creative activities occupy a very important part of the school syllabus.
The surrounding area has lakes and streams popular for fishing and watersports. To the north-east is Great Exhibition Bay and Rarawa Bay. To the south-west is the long Ninety Mile Beach coastline.
