Norsewood Travel Guide

Norsewood accommodation, Norsewood activities and attractions, Norsewood maps, transportation to and around Norsewood - the ALL NEW Jasons Norsewood Destination Travel Guide is your complete visitor guide for Norsewood.

Norsewood is a small town located just 20km north of Dannevirke, boarded by the Ruahine Ranges to the west. It is the gateway to the area and originated as a Scandinavian loggers settlement in the 1870s. It was then destroyed by fire in 1888.

This historic town is built on this unique heritage and is documented in the local pioneer museum in Upper Norsewood. Attractions in Norsewood include a cheese factory, the Norsewear textile factory shop with superb pure wool knitwear at rock-bottom prices, and many antique and craft shops.
