Things to Do in Norsewood

• Norsewood Pioneer Cottage Museum
  Norsewood and other town in the area are rich in Scandinavian heritage; this is reflected by the many artefacts in the museum
• Atholbrae Gardens
  These beautiful gardens host an amazing variety of trees and plants including rhododendrons, azaleas, maples and pines.
• Dannevirke
  Dannevirke, just south of Norsewood, was settled by Scandinavian immigrants who came to work the giant totara forest known as Seventy Mile Bush. The town is home to around 6000 people and is the service and marketing centre for the surrounding dairy and sheep farms.
• Ruahine Ranges
  These rugged ranges to the west of Norsewood attracts deer hunters from all over New Zealand. There is also good hiking - details of walks are available from the i-SITE Visitor Centre at Masterton.
