North of the Auckland Harbour Bridge, the 'Shore' is a city of beaches, bush, history and progressive new development. Takapuna is the main centre with good shopping, nightlife and the Bruce Mason Centre, the Shore's premier theatre. To the north, rapid change is taking place in Albany. Once a quiet country village, it now boasts a large retail area, Massey University and major sports venues.
