Devonport Travel Guide
Located on the
North Shore, Devonport is one of the most popular day excursions from the city, and a short ride (15min) from the Ferry Building on Quay Street. The historic village of Devonport enjoys an old world atmosphere, with fine harbour views, seafront cafés and restaurants, museums, galleries, antique and boutique shops.
The Devonport shoreline has mudflats to explore, sandy beaches for swimming and windsurfing, two good fishing wharves and a naval base. A pleasant walk is to follow King Edward Avenue to North Head, and take in the shops and villa architecture along the way.
