The small holiday settlement of Omapere has a lovely beach and good sea fishing. The town is located at the mouth of the historic
Hokianga Harbour, where opposite shores provide a striking contrast of landscapes. The northern shore has great drifts of golden sand dunes, while the southern shore, where Omapere is located, is composed of steep farmland with patches of bush.
Visitors approaching Omapere from the south are treated to a panoramic view as they reach the crest of the hill above the settlement. To the north lies the twin resort of
