It's 'World Famous in New Zealand'. The Lemon & Paeroa soft drink, that is distinctly Kiwi, originated in Paeroa and really put this small town on the map. The factory has since moved, but the 7m tall L&P bottle still stands on the main street of Paeroa, as a reminder of one of the greatest things ever produced here.
Paeroa is in a good location, at the junction of the number 2 and 26 state highways at the base of the
Coromandel Peninsula. Paeroa is about 1.5 hours drive from
Auckland and, as well as being service centre for the Hauraki District, it is a good stop off spot on your way further east and south.
