Palmerston North Adventure Activities
Palmerston North straddles the Manawatu River and, along with the neighbouring
Rangitikei and Whanganui rivers, is being promoted under the banner Destination River Region. The Manawatu River flows from the Ruahine Ranges to
Foxton Beach on the west coast and is a fly fishing heaven, with one of the highest brown trout populations in New Zealand. Fishing is best from October to April.

Based at Feilding Aerodrome, it offers trail flights on weekends and public holidays.
