Things to Do in Patea

• Beaches
  Carlyle Beach and Mana Bay are popular spots for swimming, fishing and surfing. Lookouts at these beaches will give you amazing views of Tasman Bay and the South Taranaki coastline.
• Aotea Memorial Waka
  This monument commemorates the settlement of the area by Turi and his hapu.
• South Taranaki Museum
  The museum will take you through a journey of the rich Maori and European history of the area.
• Golf
  There is a local 18-hole golf course with views of Mt Taranaki and the Tasman Sea.
• Walks
  Heritage walks take you past buildings and sites with historical significance to the town. The Rotorangi Hydro Walk is short, but has beautiful views of the lake (the largest man-made lake in the country).
