Puhoi is situated in a picturesque valley in the sub-tropical winterless north of New Zealand. Puhoi was settled by Europeans in 1863 by a group of migrants from Bohemia, now a province of the Czech Republic. Puhoi village features a church, a hotel and a general store which all have their origins from the times of the first settlers.
