Rotorua Lapidary Rock & Gemstone Shop was established in 1981, and is owned and operated by the original owner Colin Simmons, assisted by his wife Bev and valuable staff members. Stock of both New Zealand and overseas geological specimens, crystals and gemstones can be found in store, as well as stone items manufactured into jade carvings, beads, jewellery, spheres, eggs, tumbled stones, carved animals, book ends, and new age healing associated items. Also stocked is an extensive range of machinery and accessories and grinding and polishing medias, used for working and tumbling stone, bone, glass and shell. Colin has many years of experience and knowledge in cutting and polishing stone, bone, glass and shell, also ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Colin has travelled extensively and has collected geological specimens and knowledge over many years from both New Zealand and overseas - we welcome you in store to peruse our treasures from around the world and share our knowledge and experiences.
