Things to Do in Stratford

• Egmont National Park
  A 33,534ha park dominated by the volcanic cone of Mount Taranaki/Egmont, and offering more than 140km of walking tracks. The climb to the summit takes about 4-4.5hr in good conditions. Skiing is available during winter.
• Taranaki Pioneer Village
  A 4ha museum with a collection of 50 historic buildings located on SH3, just south of town.
• Stratford-Taumarunui Heritage Trail
  This route passes a number of historic sites, including Maori pa sites, coal mines and villages, along with small museums and waterfalls.
• East Egmont Plateau
  Trails, bushwalks and a lookout and picnic area. There is a skifield and the Mountain House Lodge and restaurant nearby.
• King Edward Park
  A 22ha bush reserve along the banks of the Patea River.
• Stratford Golf Club
  A picturesque course with beautiful views of Mount Taranaki/Egmont.
