Spacious bedrooms open out onto a large verandah around most of the house. The views are very pleasant and relaxing, with a serene atmosphere. Dinner is available by arrangement. Skiing on Mount Ruapehu and tramping in Tongariro National park are within an hour's drive. Kayaking and canoeing on the Whanganui river are close by. Flights can be arranged by a local pilot. There is an excellent 18-hole golf course in Taumarunui which the club encourages visitors to play. Trout fishing can be done in the Whanganui River or Lake Taupo, which is only an hour away.
