On the banks of the Waikato River, just 10 minutes north of Taupo, you’ll find New Zealand’s only Prawn Park. It’s the home of ‘Shawn the Prawn’.
‘Shawn’s Walk’ is a fascinating day of adventure and entertainment for the whole family to enjoy – you can:

- Go for a tour through the Hatchery, where more than one billion prawn babies are born every year
- Hand feed the baby prawns in the Nursery
- Play on all the water features throughout the Park including the challenging Gauntlet
- Enjoy a nature walk in New Zealand native bush
- Feed the wild, but friendly, Rainbow Trout
- Soak your feet in our geothermal footbath
- Fish all day for prawns at the Hook-A-Prawn Fishing. And when you’ve caught some - the chef can cook them for you - for free!
