We are delighted to offer you a unique opportunity to come and stay with us here at Te Anau Lodge, our lovingly restored former convent.
At Te Anau Lodge we have endeavored to create an atmosphere which is homely, warm and inviting, where you can relax and unwind.
Built in 1936, and more recently relocated to Te Anau from nearby Nightcaps, this former Sisters of Mercy Convent still retains much of its original decor. Built and decorated in 1930s-style the Lodge boasts beautiful wooden floors and walls made from native New Zealand timbers. Fascinating relics of the Lodge's former life as a convent can also be found throughout.
Te Anau Lodge is positioned at the northern end of Te Anau Township, surrounded by breathtaking lake and mountain views. The location of the lodge is quiet and tranquil, yet only 15 minutes walk to the town centre.
Breakfast is included with your night's accommodation. You can relax in our Chapel and enjoy a leisurely continental and/or cooked breakfast, including plenty of fresh homemade goodies.
Following your day of Fiordland adventuring you may wish to unwind in Te Anau Lodge's Library, with wonderful views of Lake Te Anau and the Murchison Mountains - home of the Takahe - one of New Zealand's rarest and most elusive birds. Tea and coffee are always available along with cakes and home baking.
Complimentary laundry facilities, high-speed wireless internet access and luggage storage.
For a unique and special accommodation experience, join us at Te Anau Lodge.
