Listing Details
Pateke Lagoons is a 50-acre wetland on the Kapiti Coast. Owners Adrienne and Peter Dale have turned the area into a wildfowl refuge and have planted thousands of native trees.. The wetland is now returning to its natural state with waterways providing secure roosting and nesting for a wide variety of waterfowl. There is unsurpassed viewing of the wetland and paths are mostly level so that folk seeking gentle adventures can wander at their leisure.
We have two special luxurious guest rooms, each with its own ensuite facilities and private courtyard. One guest room has facilities for people with disabilitites. The house is large and warm with a roaring fire in winter.
The library contains reference books on wetland ecology, native birds and wildfowl. Given sufficient notice we can arrange visitis to Kapiti Island Wildlife Sanctuary.
Pateke Lagoons specialises in beautiful food, all of it fresh, with vegetables and salads from our own garden. We specialise in fish and seafood, but also love to barbecue. Our three course evening meal by arrangement is $65 per person including wine. Lunch boxes are also available with advance notice. We are close to Ruth Pretty's Cooking School and offer free drop off and pick up services.
Tariff includes cooked breakfast for two; $195 Dbl
