Tokoroa lies at the heart of the central North Island's forestry area in the
Waikato region. The huge Kinleith Pulp and Paper mill is 10km south of the Tokoroa, processing timber from the region's 140,000ha of forest.
Within 25 minutes drive of Tokoroa are the Whakamaru, Maraetai and Ohakuri hydro lakes and dams which are all popular for swimming, boating and fishing.
