Named after the spectacular Minaret Mountains visible from the lodge, Minaret Lodge is just a short stroll to the lake and a 10-minute walk to the Wanaka town centre. With a backdrop of spectacular mountain scenery, set in landscaped grounds with its well established oak, silver birch and large trees, this luxury retreat is a haven of tranquillity. The lodge features a mud brick construction with plastered finish, incorporating local schist stone reflecting the traditional style of the Central Otago region. The decor is refined, yet casual, elegance.

Located behind the lodge are the guest rooms, uniquely constructed using local timbers and non-toxic materials. Each room has fine furniture, local art, deck, and private ensuite with heated tiled floor, hair dryer, bathrobes and toiletries. To begin the day, enjoy our special gourmet breakfast. Relax in our secluded sauna and spa, enjoy a game of tennis or petanque. Unwind with complimentary aperitifs in the lounge with its log fire or in the reading room with our book and CD collection. Dinner by arrangement. Take in the spectacular sights of the Lake Wanaka region including the pristine glaciers of majestic Mount Aspiring; fish for trout or salmon; play golf; ski/snowboard/cross-country at one of Wanaka's ski resorts - Cardrona, Treble Cone, or Waiorau; hiking or bike trails; jetboating. Your hosts, Gary and Fran Tate, have an extensive background in the tourism industry and have travelled worldwide in pursuit of their passions for adventure, culture and skiing. They will be more than happy to share experiences with you, accompany you on a round of golf or for a days skiing or hiking. We welcome you to share the pleasures of our unique part of the world.
