Wanaka Skiing & Boarding Areas
Nestled in the magnificent Cardrona Valley, Treble Cone, Cardrona, SnowFarm and SnowPark are all within easy distance of the accommodation and activities of nearby Wanaka. The resorts have stunning lake and mountain views in addition to a full range of facilities, including snow making.
Cardrona Resort
Located 35 minutes drive from Wanaka, Cardrona's season runs until mid October, giving you plenty of chance to polish your skiing skills. There are three wide basins offering great learner and snow boarding terrain. Highlights include the Monster halfpipe and the terrain park trails, which have some fun jumps and rail features. A new trail down the Arcadia Basin will suit the more advanced skiers and boarders. The NZ Freeskiing Champs are held at Cardrona and the resort is also home to the NZ Alpine Snowboard Race Team. There are daily shuttle services to/from Wanaka and Queenstown.

Treble Cone
Stretched across three basins, Treble Cone is largest ski area in the South Island with 550ha of skiable area. Treble Cone's regular falls of dry powder and reliable weather make it one of the more popular ski areas and the stunning vews over Lake Wanaka, Mount Aspiring and the Southern Alps are an added bonus. There is great off-piste powder skiing and natural half pipes for snowboarders. There are plenty of challenging runs - 45% of the terrain is classified as advanced. During the 2009 season, complimentary mountain tours will run daily at 11am & 1.45pm, and there will be free access to lower mountain ski lifts and learner slopes, including the Nice & Easy Platter lift and Magic Carpet. There are daily shuttle services to/from Wanaka and Queenstown.

Snow Farm NZ
Located in the Cardrona Valley, 35km from Wanaka, Snow Farm NZ is New Zealand's only cross country ski resort. There are 55km of well groomed and fenced trails and incredible mountain views to enjoy as well. The resort has a new restaurant and bar, and a dedicated novice park designed to help riders progress into the freestyle world of skiing and snowboarding. There is night riding on Tuesday and Friday nights. Snow Farm has an alpine lodge on site and there is a daily shuttle service to/from Wanaka.

Boarders can continue to polish their skills at the Southern Hemisphere's only dedicated terrain park resort, Snow Park NZ. Tucked away in the magnificent Southern Alps, Snow Park is New Zealand's largest terrain park and has some of the most innovative freestyle terrain around. You'll find New Zealand's longest superpipe, the country's first triple jump line and more than 40 rails, hits and jumps designed to test your technique to the max.
