The Sustainable Mai Farm Trust presents . . .
Mai Farm 09, a celebration of all things three . . .
"Mai Farm Naturally is a festival/fieldday intended to promote sustainable resources to the community while establishing the surrounding wetlands"
After the success of our first year we have decided to run this festival/fieldday for a second year.
This event comprises of completely organic and sustainable stalls, food venders, organic beer (Mata Beer) and wines, orgainc water (Good Water) and organic coffee (coffex). With lectures and seminars on the benefits of organics in both the residential and rural sectors, homeopathic and holistic health, natural building processes using the like of Rammed earth and Straw Bail building. Seminars and demonstrations on alternative Farming Practices, see an organic dairy farm in action. Rural suppliers of sustainable and organic farming products. Horses and Cattle on display, Pony and Horse Riding available.
We even have organic and fair trade clothing manufacturers Micah Clothing and Funked Up Apparell showcasing their truly ethical clothing.
To top this off we have an area completely decided to natural and holistic health for mind body and soul, dedicated childrens areas with seedling plantings, face painting, the Plunket team, arts and crafts.
The lone stunt rider girls will be coming back to show off there amazing talent again this year, this team is the first ever all female horse stunt riding team including a mother and daughter team. Let these amazing ladies wow you with their awesome talent and gravity defying stunts.
If all this gets too much join our team of helpers in the recharge and chill zones offering access to charging facilities, Eftpos, cellphone and laptop charging using our very own sources of renewable and alternative power sources.
We have many of our amazing bands form last year coming back to again provide an array of Musical talent, we were very blessed to have the likes of Midge Mcleary, the legendary Billy T K Senior, Bull Frog Rata, Angela Lunno, The Journey, Say No To Tange, Breaking Days, Tait Jamiesons, Soul Phonic, Dj Simi and many more grace our stage.
We are also building dual carriage ways and have created an area of parking a stones throw away form the festival site, we do however still have the option of a shuttle service running form Palmerston North to cut down on the vehicle admissions.
And after all of this excitement, you are getting a little warm take a refreshing dip in our beautiful river and relax on the gravel beach a stones throw from the site.
Please join us on the day and bring the whole family, stay the day or the night and take in the beautiful scenery that only the Pohangina Valley can offer, plant a tree in our wetland or just browse the stalls and enjoy a relaxing day in the sun with family friends.
