Just 40 mins from Auckland, Uhuru is specially designed and perfect for a luxurious, comfortable peaceful few days.

Uhuru (freedom in Swahili) is an interesting house designed by Greg Turner on a spectacular peninsula. The farm consists of rolling pasture and excellent NZ bush surrounded by the very beautiful Mahurangi harbour. It is so peaceful here you can really relax and unwind - being close to Auckland it is ideal for the start or end of your journey.

The specially designed house has 2 self-contained apartments. Upstairs is a studio with ensuite, porch and kitchen, downstairs a 2 bedroom (1 king, 1 queen/single), with large sitting room, kitchen, private porch, bath and shower and separate toilet. It is suitable for wheelchairs. Both are sunny with lovely views and every possible comfort. Both have radios and TV. Laundry is available free. The spa, pool, barbecue and main decks are shared. The games room has table tennis, pool, puzzles and books for loan - many on the local area.

There is a separate entrance to the apartments so privacy is assured, or we are delighted to have your company if preferred. Steps lead down to a private cove where you can swim, fish or explore the harbour in our canoes. If you feel energetic there are bush paths and coastal walkways, a floodlit tennis court or 3 horses for experienced riders to keep you fit or just get yourself comfy, sit by the pool, relax and watch the birds.

The surrounding area is full of regional parks, wineries and some fantastic art and sculpture. Bob plays golf and we both play bridge, local clubs would love you to join us. Dinner is sometimes available. Shops and eateries are 15-20 minutes away. We have broadband internet access and Sky TV. I'm sure you will enjoy staying a few days at Uhuru. There is a $50 surcharge for a one night stay but we take $50 off for the 3rd and subsequent nights. Prices include all on-farm activities and full breakfast foods for 2 nights.
