She may be a centenarian but the Wellington Cable Car still glides up and down the Kelburn Incline countless times a day. At the Wellington Cable Car Museum you'll learn more about the colourful 100-year history of Wellington's cable cars. Climb aboard one of the old cars, marvel at the machinery of the historic winding room and catch up on the history pictorially displayed. Visit our shop with its great selection of Wellington and New Zealand souvenirs and gifts. The museum also stocks a number of specialist transport books, videos and models. Open daily 9.30am-5.30pm. Free admission. Closed Christmas Day.
