Motel and Motor Lodge Categories
There is a wide range of motel and motor lodge accommodations across New Zealand, catering for all levels of expectation and tariffs. Below we have summarised the major types that you will find around the country, and listed on the Jasons website:
- Motels
Motels in New Zealand offer a special self-catering accommodation experience. Almost all motels in New Zealand offer kitchen facilities in your unit or room, bedding, toilet and bathroom facilities and a welcoming on-site owner and/or manager.
- Motor Lodges
Motor Lodges are similar to hotels, although the range of facilities offered may vary considerably. The larger motor lodges often provide a restaurant on site, and many lodges may also provide kitchen facilities.
- Apartments
Apartments are self-contained units which are similar to motels but usually multi-storey. Apartments often have separate bedrooms, a bit more space and additional in-unit facilities such as laundry and full kitchen facilities.
