Apia Travel Guide
Apia accommodation, Apia activities and attractions, Apia maps, transportation to and around Apia - the ALL NEW Jasons Apia Destination Travel Guide is your complete visitor guide for Apia.
Characterised by its relaxed pace and old colonial buildings, Apia is the country's seat of government and centre of commerce. It is also the major port and the main centre for shopping, with duty free and craft outlets and colourful markets offering local produce and handcrafts. There are plenty of bars, restaurants and nightclubs, along with a good network of public transport in Apia.
Neat villages spread along the coast of Apia, stretching up to the hills. At Apia harbour's eastern end is the wharf, and beyond it, the Palolo Deep Marine Reserve with its excellent

snorkelling. Just outside of Apia are also several sights well worth visiting. The famous author Robert Louis Stevenson came to live in
Upolu five years before his death, and his mansion at Vailima has fine views over Apia and its harbour. Also within close distance of Apia are the sacred burial grounds at Mulinu'u and the Papase'ea Sliding Rocks.
