There are so many wonderful settings for your ceremony. Perhaps a secluded beach, a waterfall backdrop or a tropical rainforest or garden. You can enjoy your special day on an uninhabited island, or experience a traditional style wedding in a century-old church while a Samoan choir sings - just some of the many options you can choose from.
For couples wishing to plan their special day themselves, you'll find a range of caterers, reception and function centres, hire cars, florists, wedding cake specialists, photographers and video cameramen to make your big day memorable. If you prefer someone else to do the organising and worrying, then a number of hotels, resorts and inbound tour operators can cater for your needs.
When it comes to the honeymoon, there are many lovely resorts to choose from on both Upolu and Savaii, with stunning lagoons, white sandy beaches and lush rainforest creating a beautiful backdrop for your romantic getaway. Many of the main hotels and resorts also produce wedding brochures and you can contact the Samoa Tourism Authority if you would like a copy.
Applying for a licence
- An application for a marriage licence must be filed with the Justice Department in Apia along with copies of the relevant documentation, no less than 14 days prior to the intended date of marriage. You can apply directly to
