Listing Details
Due to damage from the recent earthquake and tsunami, Palm Tree Island Resort is not currently operating or taking forward bookings.
Situated on an otherwise uninhabited island just offshore from Niuatoputapu, but still within its lagoon, at Palm Tree Island Resort we enjoy perhaps the most delightful location of any resort in Tonga, with spectacular views across the sea to Tafahi, an extinct volcano.
Niuatoputapu forms a part of the Niuas, Tonga's least developed island group, and here, far from the bustle of Tongatapu and Vava'u, you'll discover a remoteness and tranquillity that recall the Polynesia of a bygone age. Blessed by seemingly endless, largely deserted white sand beaches, and also by some of the most spectacularly beautiful scenery in the South Pacific, Niuatoputapu offers truly wonderful surroundings for a unique and unforgettable holiday experience.
Accommodation at the resort is in four well-spaced apart fales (bungalows), with private facilities, each situated on the beach with a view of the volcano.
Our restaurant specialises in fresh fish and locally grown organic produce.
