Tonga’s capital is easy to explore on foot and has some interesting sights to see. Take a snap of the Royal Palace – Tonga's most photographed icon, visit the colourful Talamahu Market to soak up the local atmosphere  and shop for handcrafts, relax at a cafe or experience traditional Tongan culture at the Tongan Cultural Centre just out of town.
  • Coffee Pacific-style © Tonga Visitors BureauExplore Beyond Nuku’alofa
Tongatapu is very flat and ideal for exploring by bicycle or car. There are cycle and car rentals in town and some guesthouses also provide bikes for their guests to rent. You’ll find a host of attractions including ancient monuments and terraced tombs (langi), peaceful villages, stunning beaches, limestone caves and spectacular blowholes.
  • Day Trips to the Island Resorts
The islands are very close – it’s only a 15 minute trip to Pangaimotu (the nearest), and less than an hour to Royal Sunset (the farthest). You can relax on the island’s beautiful beaches, join the daily activities, lunch at a café or restaurant, and return later in the afternoon.
  • Diving & Fishing
