Banking in Vanuatu
Trading banks are ANZ 9am to 3.30pm, Westpac and the National Bank of Vanuatu are 8.30am to 3.30pm except on Fridays until 4pm. Banking hours are 8.00am to 3.00pm Monday to Friday, except for Westpac which opens 8.30am to 4pm. The National Bank of Vanuatu’s airport office is open for all flight arrivals and departures. Vanuatu is a tax haven - there is no income tax and foreign currency is readily transacted. The local currency unit is the Vatu.
ATM Machines ANZ and Westpac have cash dispensers (ATM) in downtown Port Vila. Most of the ATM machines are located in and around Port Vila on Efate and Luganville on Espiritu Santo. They are all available 24 hours, 7 days a week. Overseas travellers can use their credit cards.
