Music fans are in for a treat in May, with the Fiji 2012 International Jazz and Blues Festival set to bring Port Denaru alive over four days.

An estimated 2,000 people are expected to head to Fiji for the festival, which runs from May 10-13, 2012.

Leading jazz and blues musicians from New Zealand, Australia, England and the United States will perform at the festival, along with Fiji's own talented local bands.

Festival director Billy Te Kahika says: "I intend this festival to be bigger, brighter and better than our first event as a way of leaving no doubt that our brand of Jazz and Blues festival is the premier event of the Pacific."

Among the international artists confirmed are US jazz singer Lenora Helm, a repeat visit from the iconic Australian guitarist Kevin Borich, acoustic maestro Paul Ubana Jones from the UK, Kiwi guitarist Billy TK Jnr, jazz singer Julie Mason, Australian bands The Dorothy Jane Gosper Blues Band and Melbourne's jazz pianist and singer Jade Leonard.

Fijian artists Deja Vu and Tom Mawi, Fiji's very own George Benson, will also perform.

Billy Te Kahika added: "This year's festival keeps getting better and better and compared to last year at the same time, the momentum is building incredibly well - it's going to be great."

Port Denarau boasts a shiny new venue. Their new retail and commercial centre is the largest area of services and shopping anywhere in Fiji. With a new transit centre and regular transport services operating from each of the island's world class resorts, getting to and from the festival is sure to be stress-free.

Tickets are just NZD$80 — a bargain for an international music festival — and one ticket gives you access to all venues and all dates. So if you’re lucky enough to be visiting Fiji this May, be sure to pick up tickets to the 2012 International Jazz and Blues Festival and spend a few hot evenings enjoying some cool music.

Special flight and accommodation packages will be available from Air Pacific and the festival’s travel partners, so don’t delay, book now for your taste of  ‘Music for the Soul in the Heart of Paradise’.
